3 Tips to Sparkle into 2025

December 27, 2024

Sparkling wine is a delightful beverage that brings a touch of elegance to any occasion. As we sparkle into 2025, whether you’re celebrating a special event or simply enjoying a quiet evening at home, these 3 tips and tricks will help you make the most of your sparkling wine experience.

  1. Chilling the bottle quickly is always a nice trick to have in your back pocket. Wrap the bottle in a damp paper towel and place it in the freezer for about 15-20 minutes. (Don’t forget to set a timer!) The damp paper towel will help conduct the cold more efficiently, cooling the wine faster than just placing it in the freezer.

  1. Become a pro at opening sparkling bottles with this easy tip after removing the wire cage. To prevent the cork from flying off and causing a mess, hold the bottle at a 45-degree angle and twist the bottle, not the cork. This controlled method reduces the pressure and make for a smoother opening. Always keep a towel handy to catch any overflow!

  1. If you happen to not finish the bottle in one go, preserve the bubbles by using a sparkling wine stopper. These stoppers create an airtight seal, keeping your wine fresh and fizzy for a few more days. If you do not have a sparkling wine stopper, try this trick! A cold spoon handle placed in the neck of the bottle can also help maintain the carbonation.
