Shawnee Bluff Winery

Shawnee Bluff Winery is a newly renovated 1931 resort. Built from native stone, the winery possesses a breathtaking panoramic view of the main channel of the lake. The winery features a mural paying tribute to the Osage Indians that once occupied the land. Indoor and outdoor seating are available and Italian brick oven pizza is featured daily. Pirtle Winery

The winery is located in downtown Weston, about 20 miles northwest of Kansas City, Missouri (take Exit 20 off I-29). Housed in an 1867 church building, the winery produces white wines from Cayuga White and Seyval Blanc; red wines from Norton, Chambourcin, St. Vincent and Concord. The grapes are grown in the Pirtle’s vineyard and by several local growers. Also produced are apple wine and mead (honey wine). Mead is believed to be the most ancient of fermented beverages. The Pirtle winery has attained a national reputation for superior mead.
