The beauty of Missouri wine country is truly unmatched. From rolling hills and vineyards to the unique wineries, there's something beautiful about every region of Missouri wine country. We want to see it through your eyes, enter the 2026 Through the Glass Photo Contest!

This contest is your opportunity to showcase your photography skills and your love for all things Missouri wine. Whether you're an amateur photographer or a seasoned pro, we want to see what you capture.

Contest Details

• Dates: The contest runs from June 15 - September 30, 2026. Make sure to submit your photos by the deadline at midnight on September 30.
• Judging: A panel will assess all entries and determine the top 10 contenders. These entries will be shared on our social media platforms for public voting.
• Voting Period: Public voting will take place on Missouri Wine's Facebook and Instagram accounts from October 7 - October 14, 2026.
• Winner Announcement: The winner will be revealed on October 16, 2026, and will be notified through their provided contact information.

Every participant has a chance to win! All contest entrants are automatically entered to win a Missouri Wine prize pack valued at $100.

The Grand Prize Winner will receive:

• A Missouri Wine prize pack
• Two tickets to the prestigious Missouri Governor's Cup presentation at the Governor's Mansion in Jefferson City, Missouri (DATE TBD)
• The winning image will be proudly displayed at this event this fall.

Dive Into Summer with a glass of Vidal Blanc! If you like a crisp, clean, white wine then you are sure to love a Vidal Blanc. 

Vidal Blanc (vee-dahl-blahnc) is a French American hybrid that is known for its hardiness and ability to tolerate colder climates due to its thicker skin. This varietal was developed by a French grape breeder in the 1930s and is now a staple in Missouri wine country. Bearing 99.8 acres in Missouri.

Style: Dry to semi-dry wine

Tastes: Apple, Citrus, Lemon and Grapefruit 

Smell: Fresh summer garden

Pairings: Mozzarella, Grilled chicken, Seafood, Broccoli & Asparagus, Pine nuts & Melon

If you’re in search of a Missouri white wine to complement your meal, enjoy a refreshing sip, or just a Missouri classic, Vidal Blanc is an outstanding choice. With every sip, you’ll experience the essence of summer.  

Birds cannot enjoy wine, but they can have a unique feeder and waterer. Upcycle your old and empty wine bottle to make your own DIY Bird Feeder and Waterer!

Supplies:

• 1 empty screw cap wine bottle
• Copper coil
• Bottle Top Bird Feeder Attachment
• Bird feed

Directions:

1. Remove the label and seal from the wine bottle.
2. Form the copper coil around the bottle so it will hold securely.
3. Screw in the bird feeder to the bottle.
4. Fill the feeder with feed.
5. Hang and wait for birds to enjoy!

White Barbecue sauce might sound different, but boy is it delicious! The recipe below is made even better by adding your favorite, Missouri wine. Try it out!

Ingredients

• 1/4 cup Reduced Missouri Seyval Blanc
• 1 ½ cup mayonnaise

• 2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

• 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish

• 1 tablespoon lemon juice

• 2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

• 1 teaspoon white pepper

• 1 teaspoon kosher salt

• ½ teaspoon garlic powder

• ½ teaspoon onion powder

• ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper more or less to taste

• 1-2 tsp Sugar (Optional)

Instructions

1. Reduce the Wine: In a small saucepan, simmer the wine until it is reduced by half. Let it cool completely.
2. Combine: In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, reduced wine, lemon juice, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, white pepper, kosher salt, garlic powder, onion powder and cayenne pepper until smooth.
3. Rest: Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to let the flavors meld.
4. Serve: Use as a dipping sauce, or brush onto during the last few minutes of grilling.

May is Beef Month and it’s time to celebrate one of America’s favorite foods! Beef is incredibly versatile, but one thing that never changes is that wine pairs perfectly with it. Try out this Red Wine Glace to elevate your next steak night!

Ingredients: 

• 1 tbsp olive oil 
• 1 shallot, finely minced 
• ½ cup mushrooms, sliced
• 2 tbsp of garlic 
• ¼ cup Chambourcin 
• ½ cup beef bone broth
• 2 tsp Dijon mustard
• 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce 
• 1 tbsp butter
• ½ cup heavy cream
• Salt & pepper to taste
• Steak  

Instructions: 

1. Sauté shallot, mushrooms, and garlic in olive oil. 
2. Add Chambourcin and reduce by half. 
3. Stir in beef bone broth, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce. 
4. Whisk in butter, heavy cream, and season with salt and pepper to taste. 
5. Pour over your steak and enjoy!
