Located in northeastern Lafayette County, this region of Missouri marks the southern boundary of the glacier fields present during the Ice Age. As the ice retreated, blowing winds deposited deep, fertile, silt loam soil that is excellent for growing grapes. This loess soil allows for exceptional growth of our varieties of grapes: Cynthiana, Chambourcin, Chardonel, Vignoles and Cabernet France.
