Situated high on the bluffs overlooking the Missouri River, vineyards and countryside, OakGlenn Vineyards and Winery offers a spectacular view. In a setting that takes your breath away.
In 1997 the winery was named for the majestic oak tree that marked the driveway entrance and in honor of the owner, Glenn.
The oak tree died a natural death in 2006. It has been preserved and now proudly displays the hand carved OakGlenn name plate residing at the wine pavilion. The OakGlenn property was originally established in 1859 by the renowned horticulturist, George Husmann, whom many consider the primary influence in establishing the wine-making industry in America from Missouri to California.
Five rows of the original Norton vines planted by George Husmann continue to be diligently nurtured. The old estate vines have produced very rich, complex, bold wine. OakGlenn’s portfolio of wine selections will please most palates.
The winery is located 25 miles west of Washington, Missouri, two and a half miles east of Hermann.
OakGlenn is open daily, year round.
