Montserrat Vineyards, established in 1998, is located six miles east of Warrensburg, MO and just 50 miles from Kansas City.
The winery is situated on the northern point of Bristle Ridge, giving the location a panoramic view from east to west. So vast is the view, in fact, it was commonly used as a “look-out point” during the Civil War. The town of Montserrat was laid out in 1870 and flourished boasting coalmines, brick and rail yards, churches, a grocery store, and a rousting population of 255 people. Once alive with commerce, the town has only survived in the history books.
The once proven homestead of noble pioneers is only a shadow on the ground …but now the newly planted vineyards crown the land with high hopes for the region.
With a raised deck overlooking the vineyards along with gifts, snacks and tasting area are also offered.
