Don’t let your social life leave with the warmth of summer. As the temperature drops, a game night is a great way to spend quality time with the people you care about and have a blast while you’re at it.
Card games have been around for ages and they’ve withstood the test of time because they are cheap, easy and endless entertainment. Not to mention the number of players necessary is flexible. Check out this vast list of card games with rules and instructions.
The classics are still a hoot. Break out Pictionary where it’s actually more fun when you can’t draw. Test your friends’ acting skills with Charades. Dominoes are always a good choice, and shake, rattle and roll with Yatzee. If you’re having a more intimate, two person game night, try chess or backgammon.
If you are a fan of board games but would love to be able to try before you buy? Hasbro games has a demo site where you can test games before purchasing them. Want to show off your wine knowledge? Why not go for Wine-opoly or Wine Smarts? Or you could have the ultimate wine game… a blind, brown bag tasting. Have friends each bring a bottle of wine in a brown bag, and everyone can try to guess different characteristics about it (varietal, region, vintage, etc.).
Consider getting together a game night rotation with a group of friends. Rotate the responsibility for location, games, snacks and of course you can’t forget the Missouri wine.
