The French 75 is a classic in the cocktail world, so we decided to put a twist on it. Meet the new and improved, Apple French 75.
Ingredients (yields 1 drink)
1 oz. gin
½ oz. apple cider
3 oz. sparkling wine (we used Stone Hill Winery’s Blanc de Blancs)
1 oz. cinnamon simple syrup
(OPTIONAL) Cinnamon sugar mixture
(OPTIONAL) Apple slices
Cinnamon Simple Syrup
2 cups water
1 ½ cups sugar
4 cinnamon sticks
Recipe
- In a small sauce pot, add the water and cinnamon sticks. Bring to a boil.
- Simmer for 10 minutes, and remove cinnamon sticks.
- Bring cinnamon water back to a boil, add sugar, and stir until sugar is dissolved.
- Place cinnamon simple syrup aside.
- In a shaker, add ice, gin, apple cider, and cinnamon simple syrup and shake until well-chilled.
- Rim glass with apple and dip into cinnamon sugar mixture
- Strain the mixture into a champagne flute.
- Top with sparkling wine
- Garnish with apple slice
With spice from the cider to the sweetness from the simple syrup, this cocktail is the perfect beverage to transition into fall.
