What: 10th Annual Independence Uncorked Wine Festival-anniversary edition! When: Saturday, September 9th, 2023 1:00pm-6:00pm Who: The Rotary Club of Eastern Independence Where: Historic Bingham Waggoner Estate; 313 W Pacific Independence, MO 64050 Description: The 10th Annual Independence Uncorked Wine Festival will be held on September, 9th, 2023 from 1:00pm-6:00pm on the grounds of the Historic Bingham-Waggoner Estate in Independence, MO. Independence Uncorked will be one of the largest Missouri wine festivals in the state featuring 20 Missouri wineries sampling several of their wines, a guest spirits distiller, and over 2500 attendees. The day will also feature art, music, beer, food booths and wine classes. The event is hosted by the Rotary Club of Eastern Independence and presented by Edward Jones representatives Megan Hammer * Drew Hammer * Jared Moran * Craig Bolger * Matt Flax * Kevin Carpenter * Chris Carr Adam Kliethermes * Rebecca Knepper * Michael Rowe * Joe Hyde * Andrea McMillin Jarod Moran* Adam Newmaster* Shannon Sundberg. The cost will be $35 in advance and $45 at the door and will include a wine glass and a 6 bottle wine bag (for 1st 2000 people). The Bingham-Waggoner Estate is an 1852 mansion and estate once owned by George Caleb Bingham, the famous Missouri artist. Proceeds from the events will go towards various national and local charities supported by Rotary. Beneficiaries have included the McCoy Park all-inclusive Play Ground, Great Plains SPCA, Community Services League, Independence School District Character Plus Program, Special Olympics, Shoes for Orphan Soles, Shelter Box, Job One, CAPA, Hope House, Rotary Youth Camp, Drumm Farm for Kids, Restoration House of Greater Kansas City-Ending Human Trafficking, Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity and the Rotary Foundation to name just a few. This year’s charity of choice is Truman Heritage Hillcrest Transitional Housing for youths. Bring your lawn chairs and spend the afternoon. No outside food or drink allowed, but food will be available for sale.
